I never thought I’d end up in real estate. A few years ago, if someone had told me, I probably would’ve laughed out loud, thinking: “Me, selling houses? Not a chance.”
I always pictured this job as something serious, rigid, full of rehearsed lines and fake smiles.
But, as often happens in life, I was wrong. And also, as often happens in my life, Carla had something to do with it. Thanks to her, I discovered that being a real estate agent doesn’t mean putting on an act. On the contrary: it means being yourself.
Truly listening. Supporting real people. Being there for one of the most important moments of their lives. And yes, it also means sharing the occasional laugh along the way.
The day I started talking to my first clients without putting on any act — just as I am: straightforward, honest, calm, and with a sense of humour — I realised that not only could I fit into this world, I could actually enjoy it.
Today, at Ibisunset, I bring what’s always come naturally to me: active listening, unvarnished honesty, and a relaxed attitude that makes everything flow more smoothly. Because buying or selling a home doesn’t have to be a cold, distant, or stiffly formal experience.
It can be human. Approachable. And, if possible, even fun.
